This year, Boost will be celebrating the 7th Annual Go Purple for Prevention! Campaign. The purpose of the annual campaign is to raise awareness and provide education for the public in an effort to eliminate abuse and violence in the lives of children and youth. Go Purple for Prevention! is a great opportunity for schools, organizations, businesses, and individuals to participate and promote the need for child abuse awareness and prevention.
There are so many ways to get involved!
PLAN A GO PURPLE! DAY AT YOUR SCHOOL OR OFFICE – rally your friends, colleagues and classmates to “go purple!” Take pictures of everybody dressed in purple and submit them to Boost so we can post them on our website.
HOLD A FUNDRAISER FOR BOOST– Every year, Boost produces Go Purple! promotional items. This year we have purple stress balls and Boost stainless steel water bottles. Sell these items during your Go Purple! day to raise money for our much needed programs and services.
READ EDUCATIONAL STORIES – Read children stories about safety and support. For example, you can read the “I’m a Great Little Kid!” series (available on our website; www.boostforkids.org).
IN DAYCARE CENTRES– Have the children draw a picture or write a story about how adults keep children safe. Share these stories with one another and have a discussion about healthy communication
BE CREATIVE – Come up with your own Go Purple! event. Don’t forget to share them with us and others.
