Educating adults, children, and youth on key prevention strategies is the goal of Boost’s 6th Annual Go Purple for Prevention! Campaign that will be launched at Humber College on October 6, 2010. The 2010 Go Purple for Prevention ! Campaign will feature posters designed by Humber College students to promote the prevention campaign.
The
Go Purple for Prevention! campaign is an important opportunity for all schools, organizations, businesses, and individuals to participate and promote the need for child abuse awareness and prevention. Each year in Canada, thousands of children and youth are affected by violence and abuse. We believe that through education and prevention we
all can make a difference. Bost has developed effective skill-based programs that have been proven through research to help keep kids safe. Primary prevetnion programs, such as
I'm A Great Little Kid! and
I'm A Great Kid! teach children skills to reduce thier vulnerability to risk and harm. The cost of these programs is only $3,000 per school. The programs are delivered in classrooms to grades 1 through 4 over a 6-week period. An investment of $120 per child will provide benefits that will last a lifetime. Isn't every child worth it?
Keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility. The
Go Purple for Prevention! Campaign held every October, is an opportunity for every community, individual, school, child care centre, college and unversity, business and government to get involved. To find out what you can do contact us at
