The Butterfly Ball

Toronto Child Abuse Center held its 9th Annual Butterfly Ball® May 10, 2006. This year’s gala was hosted by the Honourable David Peterson and his wife Shelley, at the Eglinton Grand, 400 Eglinton West on Wednesday, May 10, 2006. The evening began with cocktails and live entertainment by Side Three, and included a fabulous auction and delicious “strolling dinner.”

Each year at The Butterfly Ball®, BOOST presents awards to individuals or organizations who have made an outstanding contribution to the awareness and prevention of abuse and violence in the lives of children and youth. This year we are honoured to present the Voice of Courage award to Dr. Marcellina Mian of the Hospital for Sick Children and Christie Blatchford of the Globe & Mail and the Making A Difference award to The Toronto Transit Community Watch Program. Past recipients The Honourable Ken Dryden, Chief Bill Blair and Dr. Jim Cairns will be on hand to present the awards.
