Our MDT & CYAC Systems Training equips multidisciplinary teams and partner organizations with the knowledge, skills and frameworks to develop, strengthen and sustain effective Child & Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) models.
The Institute’s training approach is grounded in real-world practice and designed to support meaningful, sustained change across both individual professionals and multidisciplinary systems.
All training is delivered by experienced professionals from across disciplines, including child protection, law enforcement, medical, mental health and advocacy. Sessions draw directly from lived CYAC practice and are informed by current evidence, ensuring that learning is both credible and applicable.
Training is intentionally designed to be:
- Practice-focused and evidenced based
Learning is grounded in real case examples and scenarios, as well as leading research and best-practice. - Collaborative and multidisciplinary
Participants engage alongside other professionals, building shared understanding, language and approaches that support coordinated responses. - Reflective and discussion-based
Structured opportunities for dialogue allow participants to explore challenges, reflect on their practice and consider how learning can be applied within their own contexts. - Role-specific and system-aware
Training includes both discipline-specific content and broader system-level considerations, supporting professionals to understand their role within a larger coordinated response.
This approach ensures that training moves beyond knowledge acquisition to support changes in practice, decision-making and collaboration across systems.
